Membership

Our AAUW-Tahoe Nevada branch supports the overall AAUW mission to advance equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and philanthropy.

Why join or renew?

    • Support funding of scholarships for local women and girls
    • Participate in fun Interest groups: Outdoor Enthusiasts hiking/kayaking/biking, Book Club, Cooking Club, Great Decisions, Bunco, Travel Tips and more.
    • Stay connected with fellow members via monthly meetings: Outdoor or Zoom meetings for now.

Membership in AAUW is open to any graduate holding an associate or equivalent (RN), baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution. Students working toward a qualifying degree may become student affiliates. If you experience any problems in joining, send an email to  membership@tahoenvaauw.org.

Dues

Dues are $115 for the 2022-23 membership year, which includes

The membership year was updated in 2023 by National to be one year from when each person joins.

Tax deductability: $64 of the $72 National Association dues is tax deductible. Please consult your financial advisor.  AAUW Tahoe Nv501(c) (3) tax exempt organization registered in the state of Nevada. Federal Tax ID: 94-3055754

Membership Information

New Members: 

Nationals Registration and Renewal website has been updated (May 2022). We have made a tutorial in order to guide you through the process.  It now requires you to have a login.

A New Members Reception is given every Fall and Spring.  We introduce you to our board members and interest group leads as well as enjoy nibbles and conversation.  You will receive an email from Membership@tahoenvaauw.org to RSVP this event.   You will also start receiving emails from Events and Newsletter.

Note: To become a member of the AAUW Tahoe Nevada, you must also be a member of the national (AAUW) and state (AAUW NV) organizations.


Renewing Members:

In the spring, prior to the July 1 beginning of a new membership year, you will receive an email from AAUW National that will have a link to process your renewal online using your credit card. If you have a problem processing your renewal, contact the Membership Chair.

If you are a student working toward a qualifying degree become a Student affiliate.

Visit AAUW National Student Professionals for more information on becoming a student affiliate. You can also contact the membership chair regarding this or any AAUW membership matters.

Access research funding.   Step up as leaders.    Build your network.

Spread the word about AAUW. Undergraduates or degree-seeking graduates at non-AAUW college/university member institutions may join and renew at the student rate of $18.81 through graduation. (2022)
